LONDON, England - Even though we're still in 2015, judges have already chosen the 2016 European Car of the Year finalists. A total of 41 finalists will compete for the 2016 title.
The list will shrink by December 2015 with two more stages of voting; A shortlist will be published on December 1 ahead of the 'final seven' on December 2015.
The winner will be revealed at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show in February.
CREAM OF THE EURO-CAR CROP
To be a contender a vehicle needs to be on sale in 2015 or at least by the end of the year. The list includes an great mix of vehicles from hatchbacks to sportcars.

2016 SA COTY
The 2016 South African Car of The Year (COTY) competition will commence with members of the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists (SAGMJ) voting for finalists in September 2015, the announcement of the finalists will be made in October.
COTY evaluation days are scheduled for February 2016, ahead of the announcement of the winner at an awards banquet in March.
