PSA, Mitsubishi team up on electrics
PSA Peugeot Citroën and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation have announced a collaboration in the field of electric powertrains.
The project relates to the development, manufacture and use of an electric powertrain for small urban vehicles.
Both companies have agreed that to step up the viability of electric vehicle projects and accelerate market introduction, cooperation would be mutually beneficial.
PSA Peugeot Citroën is the largest global manufacturer of electric vehicles to date with more than 10 000 units sold.
Mitsubishi will launch its MiEV electric vehicle in its home market in 2009 and is considering possible future introduction in the US and Europe.
The latest agreement reinforces the existing relationship between the two companies that last week laid the first stone of their joint Russian factory.
