AUSTIN, Texas - A Hyundai franchise suffered horrendous damage to its vehicle stock when a driver crashed into and damaged 18 vehicles.
Most of the damage was to new vehicles.
A tow-truck driver at the scene said: “The driver hit a pole, crashed into the first two cars and slid across 16 others.”
NOT THE FIRST DEALER CRASH
The bonnets of some vehicles were ripped off and one lost its roof. The dealer said that at least nine were a write-off and the damage was the equivalent of R6.4-million.
The driver fled.
It’s not the first time a vehicle has crashed into the a car dealer in the area; a nearby Mazda franchise reported three such incidents. In 2010 a vehicle crashed into South Point Hyundai.
