DIANNE KOHLER BARNARD: The son of the DA's police spokesman was hijacked in Durban - currently the top SA city for such crimes.

CAPE TOWN - The son of Democratic Alliance police spokeswoman Dianne Kohler Barnard has been carjacked in Durban.

Peter Barnard was waiting outside his mother's home on Tuesday night, the Cape Times reported, when three men pulled up behind his Audi.

TRACKED DOWN

They put a firearm to his head, pulled him out of the car, pushed him into the property and locked the gate. The men sped off in their red BMW and his Audi. He was unhurt.

According to the report, Barnard co-operated with the men when he saw a firearm.

Kohler Barnard said a tracking company found the abandoned car eight kilometres away.
