Just when you thought Porsche's uber-sexy super car, the venerable 911 Turbo could not get any hotter, think again. Zany Swiss tuning house Rinspeed has revealed info and images of its specially juiced-up Le Mans edition.
Rinspeed's Porsche 911 Turbo "Le Mans" edition
As if the 997 Turbo was not good looking enough, the specialist Porsche tuners have added a fresh front skirt with bigger air intakes with integrated carbon splitters aiding greater downforce on the front axle.
At the rear, the Le Mans rear skirt integrates the gleaming twin tailpipes while the rear wing, finished in carbon, sits tightly above the rear hatch.
Fire power on the already blistering 911 Turbo has also been addressed. In the Le Mans, Zuffenhausen's 3.6-litre engine produces 441 kW at 6 700 r/min and a stupefying 800 Nm at 4 000 r/min.
And as the figures indicate, the car is quick too. It covers the 0 - 100 km/h sprint in 3.3 seconds and hits a top end of 343 km/h. That is if it doesn't run out of tarred surfaces first...
The added urge can largely be attributed to two VTG turbochargers, a new carbon air intake system with sport filters, improved intercoolers and a performance exhaust system.
Rinspeed claims these alterations contribute to the Le Mans being one of the fastest street legal sports cars around.
Further adjustments include an adaptable suspension based on Porsche's existing PASM system and a heavy duty brake kit with eight piston aluminium calipers at the front and six piston calipers at the rear.
Twenty-inch aluminium wheels are fitted, with the rears widened specifically to accommodate 325s while 245s doing duty at the front amount to super grip levels.
