New Volvo C30 to arrive in South Africa in 2007
Volvo will officially unveil the C30 at the Paris Motor Show in September, and production will begin at the end of 2006.

It is heading to South Africa too, and will be here in the first quarter of next year.

The design of the production-ready model is in tune with the Volvo C30 concept, which was presented at the Detroit Motor Show at the beginning of the year.

The front retains its dynamic character, with the angled headlamps and the low, wide grille.

Prominent horseshoe-shaped taillights dominate the rear while another distinctive feature is the glass tailgate.

On the inside the C30 offers four individual seats and the rear seats are slightly centred to provide a feeling of space and a good forward view. The dashboard design is similar to that of the S40.

The new Volvo C30 has a wide selection of engines, ranging from a 72kW, four-cylinder 1.6-litre petrol engine the five-cylinder D5 and T5 turbo engines, providing 132kW and 162kW respectively.

The newcomer also features a host of safety features and one such gizmo is BLIS (Blind Spot Information System). This helps the driver to identify another vehicle in the blind spot at the rear sides of the car.
