Gemballa makes Cayenne look good?
Uwe Gemballa, purveyor of mental Porsche tuning craftsmanship, has made the odd looking Cayenne facelift into a manic supercar.
The marrying up of Porsche’s most controversial model range – the Cayenne SUV – and Germany’s most outrageous Porsche tuner – Uwe – can only come to an obvious conclusion: an unconventional supercar SUV.
Uwe’s unsubtle GT 550 AERO 3 is based on the newly face lifted Cayenne 957 Turbo, hardly a reserved, slow SUV to start out with. In typically over elaborate fashion Uwe has mixed and matched body panels to create an arresting visual package.
Most noticeably is the new bonnet – transplanted from a Gemballa GT EVO – and huge front grille. Revised front and rear fenders, side skirts and huge mags endow it with massive road presence.
In standard trim the Cayenne Turbo produces a supercar humbling 404kW from its 4.8-litre turbocharged V8. A relatively mild 410kW upgrade is available from Gemballa – a small, African, oil producing country is not included in the purchase price of the conversion though. The GT 550 AERO 3 should still be good for a top whack of 285km/h and 0-100km/h in five seconds.
The interior is finished in some odd orange and black colour contrasted trim items, with optional sports seats for the second row passengers to ensure optimal cornering enjoyment four-up.
