9ff whips GT2 into 492kW shape

2008-11-10 08:49
Beyond the garish graphics, you’ll find 492kW read

Beyond the garish graphics, you’ll find 492kW ready to usurp those rear wheels. This is 9ff’s take on what the Porsche 911 GT2 should be like.

Vehicle Specs
Manufacturer Porsche
Model 9ff GT2
Power 492kW
Torque 800Nm
Its GT9 tops 400km/h, and now Dortmund-based 9ff has sharpened up the 911 GT2 too.

The team at 9ff has reworked the GT2’s flat six engine and managed to coax an additional 103kW and 120Nm from it. It’s worth noting the 911 GT2 engine is hardly an idle piece of engineering in stock form to begin with.

Performance becomes even more radical with the new 492kW power peak (800Nm of torque onboard too) powering the 9ff GT2 from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds.

Perhaps even more impressive is the 0-300km/h acceleration of only 25.8 seconds, whilst the aerodynamically limited top speed is 335km/h. Quite novel is an exhaust tuning feature which allows the owner to dial in more or less volume, sharpening up the exhaust note for track days.

So, if the standard 390kW Porsche GT2 is not enough of twitchy, rear-wheel drive coffin on wheels for you, this 492kW 9ff fettled version is sure to appeal to your suicidal tendencies.

Remember, it's called the 9ff GT2 670, you'll want to specify it to your life-insurer - then listen to the hollow laughter on the other side of the phone line...
