In 1938, the first VW Beetle rolled off Volkswagen's assembly line and since then has remained an automotive iconic endearing itself to millions around the world. Now, a new book presents personal Beetle owners' stories.
The Beetle remains a global icon and has long been the trusty companion to many motorists, even spawning its own movie franchise (read: Herbie).
The good ol' bug
Known as the 'Bug' due to its round shape and its unique air-cooled engine layout in the rear, its loud engine is another signature Beetle feature.

Their have been a few modern interpretations but these could never recapture the feeling, nor sales, of the original Beetle.

Besides being an icon to plenty of motorists across the world, it is also a celebrity on screen, it featured in the movie 'Herbie Fully Loaded' and the racing show 'Street Outlaws'.
The Beetle is a legend in its own right filled with history and still holding its own among the newer generation.
