Choking cabbie saved by crash

BERLIN, Germany - We're often bombarded with statistics, scared-stiff videos and gruesome images of fatal crashes. In Germany however, one lucky man’s car crash saved his life.

The 50-year-old taxi driver was choking on a half-swallowed sweet and lost control of his vehicle during a coughing fit on Sunday October 28, 2012.

LIFE-SAVING CRASH

He hit a small truck parked at the roadside before losing consciousness as his taxi headed towards oncoming traffic, hitting another parked car head-on.

The impact is believed to have dislodged the sweet from his throat and the taxi driver regained consciousness.

Both he and an 87-year-old female passenger - each wearing a seat belt - were unhurt by the collisions.
