Ceramic 6 Concept: Story in a pattern

LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Mazda's Ceramic C Concept carries performance draped in beauty at the 2013 edition of the annual Sema show.

The all-new 2014 Mazda3 and Mazda6 models were unveiled by Mazda North American Operations at the (full name ) Specialty Equipment Market Association event inin November 2013. The four concept vehicles showcased design and styling elements paying tribute to the brand's racing heritage.

RACING PATTERNS

The Vector 3 Concept has design patterns on each side identical to those of the Ceramic 6 but that’s where the similarities end. And while its sibling Club Sport concept cars focus on the brand’s racing heritage, this one focuses on racing patterns.

The paint job is in ‘ceramic white’ littered with silver taupe accent stripes. Its linear frequency patterns are much like those found on couture dresses and flowing fabrics. To achieve its matte white finish, a base metallic followed by a satin clear coat was used.

The car rides on Rays Volk Racing Original G25 10-spoked, 20” wheels also finished in taupe silver. Performance accessories include an H&R spring kit, a Racing Beat custom dual-exhaust and custom Brembo two-piece, six-piston, drilled rotors.

Look inside the car and you might think you’re in a Milan fashion studio with soft leathers, intricate stitching and overlapping weave patterns. Mazda says where the Club Sport represented motorsports and historical drives, the Ceramic 6 is reminiscent of the popular shopping avenue, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California.

LIGHT AND DARK LEATHER

The white leather interior is contrasts with dark features - steering wheel, arm rests, parking brake and centre console while the accented metallic details add a warmer dash between the tones.

The front and rear seat inserts are interwoven light and dark white leather while hand-sewn burgundy stitching highlights the contrasting design. These same inserts are also seen on the doors and along the instrument panel decor.
