RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - At least seven people have died and nine were injured when a bus plunged off a bridge overlooking one of Rio's main access roads.
A Civil Protection statement said nine people were injured and taken to hospitals after the disaster on Tuesday (April 2, 2013).
BLOOD, SHATTERED GLASS
The bus landed on is its roof after falling 15m onto Rio's Avenida Brasil, an AFP photographer reported. The avenue was stained with blood and covered in shattered glass.
An investigation has begun but some witnesses told Globo TV that the bus driver was arguing with a passenger who had not paid his fare.
