Build your own RAV4, Land Cruiser or 86

The prospect of building your own Toyota might summon up images of long nights toiling in a cold garage surrounded by myriad parts and tools.

Realising that not everyone has the mechanical expertise to build their own ride, the automaker has released a series of 'build-it-yourself' kits of its models, and they only require a sharp knife, glue and patience.

Wth a nod to the traditional Japanese paper-folding art of origami, Toyota has produced a range of downloaded paper models for fans of its line-up.

TOYOTA PAPERCRAFT KITS

Colourful, high-resolution kits of its RAV4, Prius, 86 coupe and Land Cruiser can be downloaded along with instructions on how to churn out your own 3D paper Toyota.

According to the automaker: "The Toyota papercraft kits are ideal for youngsters whiling away the last days of a school holiday; office workers prone to procrastination can happily kill time exploring their inner engineer."

The designs are tailored towards young Toyota fans (who puts hearts on an 86!) but there's no reason you shouldn't exercise your papercraft and create a 3D model of your own.
