Brute V8 BMWs thunder in

Earlier this year Wheels24 revealed that the 550i and 650i will be replacing the 545i and 645i respectively. Now the newcomers are ready to hit local BMW showrooms.

Under the bonnets of these sizzling Beemers are a 4.8-litre V8 engine which kicks out 270 kW at 6 300 r/min. Torque is a massive 490 Nm of torque at 3 400 r/min.

This engine enables the 550i to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, while. The 65ii does the 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.4 seconds, while it will take the cabriolet version 5.7 seconds.

All models are available with six-speed manual, six-speed Steptronic automatic or six-speed SMG transmission choices.
