LONDON, England – An online survey has shown that British automakers lead the world among dream cars.
The poll, run by the Future Drive Motor Show (FDMS), asked: “With money no object, which car brand would you like to see in your garage?”
In the top 10 were four British automakers (Aston Martin, Bentley, Jaguar and McLaren), three Italian (Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati) and three German (Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Audi).
INGRAINED IN OUR MINDS
Aston Martin, since its appearance in the James Bond movie series, was top of the desirability list.
FDMS managing director Giles Brown said: “It’s such great news that cars built here in the UK are so desirable and top of the shopping list if money were no object. Here’s hoping the increase in the price of a lottery ticket does not decrease the number of winners who would more than likely buy one of these iconic brands.
“Their glamour and desirability seem to grow. Ingrained in our minds are the Bentley Boys, the James Bond Aston Martins, the reputedly most desirable car in the world – the Jaguar E-Type – and new-boy-on-the-block, McLaren.”
The show will take place at ExCeL London from 5-12 May 2013 to showcase a wide range of new vehicles.
There will also be an electric supercar section, a garage of the future, a motorcycle and scooter test drive area, a teenage driving experience and a kiddies’ driving area.
