CREWE, England - Want to drive blisteringly fast on ice? R112 000+ to spare? Bentley's offering brave drivers a chance to drive Continental GT's on Finland's frozen lakes in its 2013 Bentley Power on Ice programme.
The classy automaker will return to Finland in 2013 to host its next "Power on Ice" event and wants driving enthusiasts to take part in possibly the most exciting (not to mention expensive) ride of their lives.
Entrants will get behind the wheel of a Bentley Continental GT in the frigid north of Finland. To enter you need around R112 000 to take part - plus spending money.
Participants will be led by a team of instructors who will train them in a range of driving techniques.
FINNISH ADVENTURE
Leading the line-up is Finnish four-times World Rally champion Juha Kankkunen. In February 2011 Kankkunen broke his own ice speed record by driving a Continental Supersports Convertible at 330km/h on the frozen Baltic Sea off the coast of Finland.
Kankkunen said: “The opportunity once again to drive the Continental GT on our famous ice tracks is one I can’t resist. The huge power combined with all-wheel drive and the new eight-speed gearbox makes the GT the perfect car for such exciting and engaging driving.
"Our customers are always amazed that their cars are so rewarding to drive at the limit of grip, and it’s my pleasure to teach them how to do it,” he said.

After flying to the town of Kuusamo on a charter, guests will be driven to the exclusive ski resort of Ruka, 60km from the Arctic Circle. The two-day programme focuses on driving both the V8 and W12 versions of Continental GT on the smooth ice of local lakes and specicially prepared tracks.
As well as the exhilarating driving opportunities, guests have the chance to enjoy a range of Nordic activities - snowmobiling, a night-time husky sled safari, traditional Finnish smoke saunas and dinner at an historic reindeer farm.
Bentley's Power on Ice programme runs from February 7-28 2013 with places starting from R112 000 per driver.
