Back-seat birth for baby Zafira

LONDON, England - A girl born in the back of an Opel MPV has been named after the family car - Zafira.

Lyla May Zafira Stokes was born en route to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, England - delivered by her mother Corin in the back seat of the car while her father drove.

FREE SERVICE

The event caught the attention of Vauxhall (Opel’s brand name in the UK) through an article in a local newspaper and Corin was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a free vehicle service as a gift from the dealer, Murketts.

“We’d already decided on May but my husband wanted to add Zafira after what happened,” said Corin. “It’ll certainly be a good story to tell her when she’s older.

Stuart Wright from Murketts said: “We’re delighted that the couple took inspiration from one of our top-selling models.”

Mum and baby are both doing well and Lyla May Zafira is now home with big brother Liam, four, and sister Freya, two.
