Cape Town - The 2016 SAGMJ South African Car of the Year finalists were revealed earlier in September 2015.
The 12 finalists competing for the 2016 SA Car of the Year (CoTY) title has been revealed following a vote by members of the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists (SAGMJ).

It looks like the 2016 competition could avoid controversy - there's no Porsche.
The 12 finalists include two Opel hatchbacks (Corsa and Adam) and the Jaguar Land Rover duo (XE, Discovery Sport). A notable finalist is BMW's electric hybrid i3.
And leading the grid is...
We asked Wheels24 users which vehicle they think deserves to win the 2016 title and our homepage poll garnered 4379 votes.
Ford's Fusion looks to be the clear car of choice with 997 votes to date, making up 23% of votes.
In second place is Volvo's XC90 (550 votes) and the BMW i3 (488 votes). The Citroen Cactus sits at the bottom as the least favourite car with only 128 votes.
