2016: Best-selling super cars in SA

Cape Town - August 2016 saw a decline in new vehicle sales compared with the same period in 2015.

Though the Toyota Hilux and Volkswagen Polo Vivo maintained their positions as South Africa’s two best-selling vehicles, figures for both vehicles also saw a decline.

But on the other end of the spectrum super cars saw a surprisingly solid month in which no fewer than 50 vehicles were sold.

Ferrari surprised with 15 sales, while Porsche again managed to deliver another stellar month.

Models that did not make the cut, but deserve special mention, include the recently launched Jaguar F-Pace (52 models), the Jag F-Type (9), Porsche Cayman/Boxster, and the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport (79).

Bentley’s all-new SUV, the Bentayga, found seven new owners. It might seem like a small number, but considering that each Bentayga sells for R4-million a pop before options…

The Daytona Group commented about McLaren and Aston Martin sales stats: "Unfortunately we are unable to disclose this information as our figures are not yet finalised."
