2014 SA Coty finalists named

The 2014 SA Car of the Year finalists have been revealed at the 2013 Johannesburg motor show. Find out which models are the cream of the SA motoring crop and vote for your favourite!

Earlier in 2013, Wheels24 reported on 40 semi-finalists in the 2014 Car of the Year competition. In October 2013, the nine finalists have been named at the 2013 Johannesburg International Motor Show.

Judges will evaluate the vehicles Gerotek test facility near Pretoria in January 2014.

According to the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists: “Jury members will  assess the cars independently under the conditions individual vehicles would be expected to perform, with routes and modules designed to test the vehicles in a similar way the average consumer would use them.”

Vehicles will be judged on aesthetics, performance, build quality, ergonomics, fuel consumption, environmental friendliness, safety and value for money.

The winner will be revealed in February 2014.
