Luton/Russelsheim – Opel has released a teaser video of its new GT Concept ahead of its official debut at the 2016 Geneva auto show in March.
In the video, Dr Karl-Thomas Neumann, CEO of Vauxhall/Opel, opens a door to show the front of the GT Concept, with the words: "Don’t miss what happens next."
Retro exhaust, red rubber
Opel has also released the first image of the GT Concept’s central double exhaust.
You can spot a strange red tyre which, the automaker says pays homage to the MotoClub 500, an Opel motorcycle from 1928 that used red rubber.
Vauxhall first presented the XVR at the Geneva Show in 1966, and Opel the Experimental GT at Frankfurt the year before.
Both were minimalistic and uncompromising, with a sculptural shape – a philosophy which, the automaker says, also defines the design of the new GT Concept.
