Audi's RS 3 sportback finally arrived for testing at the Wheels24 office. Sean Parker spent time with the fiery hot hatch and grew to love its 2.5-litre turbocharged engine.
We got a chance to drive the manic Audi RS 3. The updated version was introduced to Mzansi at the end of 2017 and Wheels24 spent time with the hot hatch in late May.
Powered by an award-winning 2.5-litre five cylinder turbocharged engine with 294kW and 480Nm the RS 3 is a rapid car when it gets going, offering Spiderman-like grip courtesy of its four-wheel drive system.
Gear changes are executed via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and it goes about its business like a smooth talking advocate.
One aspect of the RS 3 that's perhaps entirely out of character with the German brand is the sound of the fiery hot hatch! The engine has a unique firing of '1-2-4-5-3' which produces an off-beat thrum.
