Ford SA's cheapest EcoBoost-powered Fiesta yet

Pretoria - Ford has expanded its local Fiesta range with the addition of the new 1.0 EcoBoost Ambiente manual.

The new EcoBoost-powered Fiesta retails for R198 900.

Low fuel consumption

The new addition to the Fiesta line-up joins the 1.0 EcoBoost Ambiente PowerShift auto (launched in March 2015) and is powered by the same 74kW/170Nm petrol, mated to a five-speed manual.

Fuel consumption is rated at 4.3 litres/100km with emissions of 99g/km.

Loads of kit

The entry-level Ambiente is equipped with Ford’s advanced Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS), ABS with Emergency Brake Assistance, driver and passenger airbags, seatbelt pretensioners (with load limiters), Isofix child-seat anchors and “Follow-me-home” headlights.

Standard kit includes remote central locking, immobiliser, power front windows, heatable and powered side-mirrors, a 12-volt power point in the centre console, steering-wheel mounted audio controls and aircon.

The new model is equipped with Ford’s Sync multimedia connectivity system.

Tracey Delate, general marketing manager for Ford Southern Africa, said: “Since the expansion of the Ford Fiesta EcoBoost range in March this year, we have been able to significantly increase our share of the ultra-competitive B-segment.

“A total of 9744 Fiestas have been sold between January and November 2015, including monthly sales of over 1 000 units on three occasions, in June, August and October.

“The introduction of the value-oriented Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost Ambiente manual enhances that appeal further. We expect it to be a very popular choice amongst private buyers, as well as corporate, fleet and rental customers.”

All Fiesta models are sold with a four-year or 120 000km warranty, four-year or 60 000km service plan, three-year/unlimited km roadside assistance and five-year/unlimited km corrosion warranty.

Service intervals are 20 000km for EcoBoost petrol engines and 15 000km for Duratorq TDCi diesel-powered models.
