Mitsubishi’s Lancer 2.0 GLS has been enhanced with subtle styling improvements and equipment upgrades.
Although the 2.0 GLS retains its suite of mechanical features, the new model gains redesigned ten-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels and resurfaced rear light clusters (contrasting clear circular lenses with a black base).
Cabin upgrades include an improved instrument binnacle featuring an integrated LCD centre display for peripheral information such as fuel consumption and temperature levels.
Lancer's steering wheel now boasts satellite controls for the audio system and air-conditioning is automated.
From behind the wheel changes to the Lancer’s windscreen may not be immediately perceptible, yet it features improved sound-deadening - thereby better insulating occupants from road and mechanical noise intrusion.
The rest is standard Lancer fare. Powering the 2.0 GLS is Mitsubishi’s intake- and exhaust-valve timing assisted 2l MIVEC engine, producing 114kW and 199Nm.
Driving the front wheel via a five-speed manual transmission the 2.0 GLS is good for a benchmark 0-100km/h sprint of 9.4 seconds.
Mitsubishi’s refreshed 2.0 GLS retails for R199 900 (including CO2 tax).
