The Alfa Romeo Guila QV has been spotted testing at the Nurburgring, it uses a V6 turbo petrol engine kicking out a delicious 380kW. The QV speeds to 100km/h in 3.9sec.

Johannesburg – Alfa Romeo has penciled in the date when its updated Giulietta will make its South African debut - October 1.

The Italian automaker says the new model features several exterior style elements, including a new honeycomb grille new front bumper which recalls the shape of the legendary front trefoil.

Other changes include polished headlights, new bumper inserts, bespoke alloy rims and new oblique exhaust tailpipes.

Three engine, three trim levels

The engine line-up features three turbo petrol engines - 1.4 Turbo Petrol, the 1.4 Turbo MultiAir TCT and the 1750 Turbo Petrol TCT.

The facelifted line-up has three trim levels - Giulietta, Giulietta Super and Giulietta Veloce.

The latter, Giulietta Velocem is the sportiest derivative, with new sports bumpers with Alfa Red profiles, carbon-look headlights, anthracite accents on the mirrors, door handles and on the grille and fog light surrounds.

Step inside and the Giulietta Veloce trim level has new leather and Alcantara sports seats with integrated head restraints embellished with contrasting red stitching and “Alfa Romeo” written on the head restraints.

In the other two versions: Giulietta and Giulietta Super versions, Alfa says the former features grey and black fabric seats, a one-of-a-kind matte black dashboard, leather steering wheel and new black inserts on the tunnel and door pulls.
