LONDON, England - Suzuki Motor Corporation will hold the global premiere of its all-new small and stylish Vitara SUV at the 2014 Paris Motor Show,

The new five-door means the return of the famous badge first used by Suzuki more than 25 years ago. In South Africa it was sold until recently in 3.2 V6 guise and as a smaller SUV. It's the production model based on the iV-4 conceptfirst shown at the Frankfurt auto show in 2013.

NEW VITARA

The all-new Vitara will be available on the British right-hand drive market early in 2015 with the option of all-wheel drive and a choice of petrol or diesel engines that, the automaker says, promise "outstanding fuel economy".

A spokesperson for Suzuki SA said: "We’re also quite excited about the new Vitara and will study it for SA as soon as we can. Obviously we can’t talk about dates until the study is finalised.

"The Grand Vitara was sold in many other countries as the Escudo. We think that all countries will now sell the Vitara (not Grand Vitara which at this stage is continuing)."

Suzuki says the Vitara "will have a striking road presence with distinctive design" and buyers can choose from colour and trim customisation options.

Further information will be disclosed at the Suzuki media conference at the Paris show on October 2 2014.
