VW’s Caddy gets Cross treatment

VW’s dependable Caddy commercial vehicle gets a huge style injection for the IAA commercial vehicles show where a Caddy Cross special edition will be unveiled.

And the “angry” Caddy, with its bright Viper Green paintwork, 17” alloy wheels (seemingly borrowed from the Golf GTI Edition 35) and bold body kit will be hard to miss at the IAA show, which runs in Hanover, Germany, from September 20 – 27, 2012.

NOT FOR SA

The black body kit extends around the lower edges of the front and rear bumpers, the side sills and wheelarches to give the van a more rugged look. This is complemented by silver roof rails.

The cabin features a two-tone seat design with contrasting door panel inserts, a leather-covered steering wheel and contrasting grey stitching on the gear knob and handbrake.

According to Volkswagen, the Caddy Cross will go into production in early 2012 with a wide selection of engines, plus the option of 4Motion all-wheel drive.

The Caddy Cross will not be sold in South Africa, a Volkswagen SA representative said.
