Toyota Quantum gets cool

accreditation
Two systems are offered and are available on all four Quantum panel van derivatives.

The first of the two options is designed to cool only the front cab area only, while the second is designed to cool the entire vehicle including the rear load area.

"Our research has shown that a number of Quantum panel vans are bought by owner drivers, or by operators who are conscious of the need to improve operating efficiencies by offering a more comfortable operating environment," says Andrew Kirby, Toyota S.A.'s Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales.

"A factory fitted air conditioner has featured high on customers wish lists for this vehicle since its introduction and we are now able to meet this requirement with a full factory fitted option rather than an aftermarket system."

The Toyota Quantum is available with a choice of 2.5 litre common rail turbo diesel engine (75 kW @ 3600 rmin / 260 Nm @ 1600-2400 r/min) or a 2.7 litre petrol engine (111 kW @4800 r/min / 241 Nm @3800 r/min).

Two distinct body styles are available, the standard wheelbase version, and the Super LWB model with its longer, wider, and higher body for high volume load requirements.

The Super LWB model features large sliding doors on both sides in addition to the lift up rear door for easy access to the load area.

The Quantum is classified as a light vehicle and therefore only a code 8 licence is required to drive it.

Quantum panel van prices are:

2.7 Panel Van R175 000
2.5 D-4D Panel Van R185 000
2.7 Super LWB Panel Van R203 000
2.5 D-4D Super LWB Panel Van R213 000

All prices include VAT and a full 5 year/90 000 kilometre service plan.

The cab only air conditioner costs an extra R7 500 while the front and rear system adds R15 000 to the price (including VAT).
