Tom Tom's maps conquer Africa

Whether its visiting family in KZN, a holiday in Mozambique or planning a cross-continental journey from Cape Town to Cairo, TomTom’s GO portable navigation devices give users the ability to navigate more than seven million kilometres of Africa’s road network.

TomTom has launched its GO series of portable navigation devices in Africa and says: “For the first time drivers will have access to a highly accurate, interactive map of all countries on the continent, empowering them with information to make better-informed driving decisions.”

7-MILLON KILOMETRES COVERED

The GO series provides directions, road information and traffic updates across seven million kilometres of Africa’s roads and are sold with Lifetime TomTom Traffic which uses the company’s traffic information help drivers reach their destination faster.

An interactive map responds and scales to touch to zoom in/out to find places with their fingertips or tap on the map for route guidance and plotting. 

Daan Henderickx of TomTom SA said: “We're pleased to introduce personal navigation devices that cover all countries in Africa.”
 
Maps updates are included in the TomTom's MapShare service which enables users to report road changes, of which more than 3000 are reported each month. The map also display previous and current street names.

The TomTom GO series is available from R2599 - 3999. All devices are sold with lifetime map updates.
