As the name suggests, the all-new BOLT Sedan exudes excitement and energy and is designed to give the driver total control of his vehicle. BOLT Sedan is the first vehicle from Tata Motors that clearly exemplifies the HORIZONEXT themes of DESIGNEXT, DRIVENEXT & CONNECTNEXT for its passenger vehicle business.
The all-new styling of the BOLT Sedan is based on its new key design direction of ‘Confident Dynamism’. With a classy new forward pouncing stance and well-sculpted body, the design portrays a sense of power and agility.
As a part of the Tata Motors new design language, the ‘Humanity line’ at the front reinterpret Tata Motors car designs. These lines join the lamps and Tata Motors signature grill to create the face of the car. They also change the visual proportions of the car to make it look wider and more planted, balancing the front look of the car. Its flowing lines create an illusion of movement even when standing still, revealing the smooth and flowing lines of its silhouette thereby exaggerating the feeling of a larger sedan.
Projector headlamps are complemented by chrome accents and day-time running lights. The light guide rings create striking front look on-road. The rear treatment of LED lamps and a bold chrome accent bumper, give the new BOLT Sedan a good proportion.
The car has a good balance of elements like strong wedge of the shoulder-line, the wide stretched front, rear and sporty 15” Alloy Wheels, all these elements combined with a careful selection of exterior colour and a well sculpted body, add to the dynamic and stylish stance of the new Bolt Sedan.
Riding on Tata Motors DNA of being spacious and safe, a greater attention to detail towards the vehicle’s interiors is another defining factor of the BOLT Sedan’s design. Reminiscent of luxury cars, the BOLT Sedan comes with premium interiors, a neatly-layered dashboard with - Java Black finish, for a stunning and high-tech inviting feel.
This is coupled with a well-integrated infotainment screen and Tata Motors next-generation 3-spoke steering wheel. The vehicle’s wing-shaped central instrument cluster Bezel, gear knob, precisely detailed air vents and sculpturally designed console, connected in a single wing-shaped graphic, ensure that the BOLT Sedan has the best design attributes.
Chrome embellishments on the interior features render an aura of elegance in the cockpit. The design of the mid-pad lends itself for a sophisticated color. The center console comes loaded with a best-in-class infotainment experience and FATC (Fully Automatic Temperature Control), finished in Piano Black, with a painted metal feel.
The BOLT Sedan has spacious shoulder and head room, with body-hugging Rugby Shoulder driver and co-driver seats that ensure maximum comfort and a reassuring feel even at higher speeds.

With over 300,000 hours of rigorous developmental and research testing, the Revotron 1.2T petrol engine, has been developed in conjunction with global consultancies and suppliers to deliver world-class performance in terms of power, torque and efficiency.
The turbocharged Multi-point Fuel Injected (MPFi) Petrol Engine is equipped with a high boost turbo-charger, delivering power of 66KW @ 5000 RPM and peak torque of 140Nm @ 1500 – 4000 RPM. The REVOTRON 1.2T’s modern water-cooled turbo-charger, with low inertia wheel, delivers a faster, flatter response, for a seamlessly high torque density. Kicking-in at a low RPM, it delivers a wide range of revolutions, thereby constantly feeding the vehicle with the right power.

REVOTRON’s multi-drive mode function, enables switching between ECO and CITY mode, along with a superior throttle response. The new BOLT Sedan has benchmark fuel efficiency due to an innovative Smart ECU (Electronic Control Unit) that ensures a superlative performance. The vehicle is also fitted with an advanced catalytic converter that helps in better, more complete combustion, reducing toxic emissions.
In the ECO Mode, performance and throttle response is reduced to maximize fuel economy but with comfortable drivability, ideal for Highway cruising. In the City Mode perfect balance between performance and economy is achieved, power delivery is smooth and throttle response is linear leading to agile drivability to easily navigate city traffic conditions.
Further, the BOLT Sedan will have ePAS (Electronic Power Assisted System), with speed sensitivity and ‘Active Return’ function. The most advanced 9th generation ABS with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), from Bosch, for improved braking efficiency, and segment-first Corner Braking Stability feature, add to the safety feature of the vehicle. A silent, quieter cabin will ensure a pleasant and superlative drive experience.
The BOLT Sedan’s dual-path suspension, coupled with a zero-pivot sub-frame and Anti-roll bar, ensures a smooth and comfortable ride. The improved suspension provides effective isolation from road inputs, without compromising on body control, translating into a class-leading balance between ride and handling for a comfortable and grounded drive. Dual Airbags and Rear Park assist further add to the safety features of the BOLT Sedan.
Understanding the dynamic consumer’s increasing need for connectivity forms the core of Tata Motors ConnectNext experience. Tata Motors has worked closely with HARMANTM to design and engineer an acoustic audio and infotainment system, with best-in-class features to allow the user to stay connected.
With a 5" touchscreen, supporting a rich multimedia experience and advanced Bluetooth technology for smartphone integration, the new Bolt Sedan is powered by 8 speakers (4 speakers + 4 tweeters) for Super Surround audio effect. The system enables smart voice recognition which understands user commands, SMS notification and read-outs, ensuring that the car seamlessly integrates the users’ professional and personal lives with their drive, while bringing in an unparalled infotainment experience. The system has in-built Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC) on touch screen, which is a first-in-class experience. The user controlled drive away door auto-locks can be operated via the Infotainment system, ensuring that the user has complete control.
The 2.5” segmented display in instrument cluster provides all the vital information necessary for drive. It includes, Individual Door Opening display, fuel computer, gear shift recommendation amongst others, making the new BOLT Sedan truly connected.
