Spec update for Ford Rangers

PRETORIA, Gauteng - Ford SA has announced specification updates for some of its Ranger bakkies  on the current build line - some additions, some deletions.

All XLS models get additional content as standard including:

  • Bluetooth with voice control
  • Steering-wheel audio controls
  • Cruise control

These units now have electronic stability control as standard:
  • Ranger 2.2 110kW XLS 4x4 6MT diesel single-cab
  • Ranger 3.2 XLS 4x4 6MT diesel single-cab
  • Ranger 2.2 HP XLS 4x4 6MT diesel double-cap

LOSE A LID, GAIN A BELT

Other changes might not be so much appreciated: for instance, one piece of glass is replacing the sliding rear window on entry, XL and XLS units. Good is that all double-cab units will now have a three-point seat belt (instead of just a belly-belt) for the middle passenger in the rear seat.

Another strange one: the lid on under-seat bins on all double-cabs is being deleted (why would anybody want a bin without a lid, we wonder?); you want a lid, you'll now pay for it.

As from April 2014 Oyster Silver will replace Thunder as a paint colour.
