Suzuki will debut a sedan concept at the 2013 Shanghai International Automobile Industry in April.
Dubbed the Authentics*, the model will compete in the C-segment, which is particularly relevant in China where sedans account for the largest sales volumes in the car market.
According to Suzuki, the concept fuses the themes of sportiness and elegance, thanks to its long wheelbase and an unconstrained shape.
NEW MOTORCYCLE FOR SHANGHAI
The overall height has been kept low, while a powerful shoulder line and curved surfaces emphasise the sedan’s assertive profile. Motorcycle fans will also be treated to the new Hayabusa and Boulevard M109R models.
Also making its first global appearance in Shanghai will be Suzuki’s new GW250S, a new version of its GW250 road bike produced by Suzuki’s joint venture in China.
The GW250S sports a half-fairing, giving it a sportier image while increasing wind protection at high speeds. Other exhibits at the Shanghai expo will include the 2013 SX4.
Will the new model arrive in SA, hopefully with a name change? According to a Suzuki spokesperson: "It's a just a concept at the month. We'll find out production details later in April 2013."
*Wheels24 says: There's no getting around it, Authentics is a terrible name for a vehicle. We suppose it doesn't translate well into English. What's next, the Originals hatchback? The Fakes crossover?
