Citroën will unveil the latest addition to its DS line-up - the DS3 cabriolet - at the upcoming 2012 Paris auto show,
Since its launch in 2010 the DS3’s distinctive style and performance has seen the French automaker's hot hatch grow in popularity with 180 000 sales to date and a range of special editions such as the DS3 Racing and DS3 Ultra Prestige.
The new cabriolet will be headed to South Africa early in 2013.
PERSONALISE YOUR DS CABRIO
The DS3 cabriolet uses the hatchback’s compact proportions - 3.95m long, 1.71m wide and 1.46 m high - and the soft roof is available in three designs and a range of colours to complement any of the cars' seven body colours.
Modifications over the standard model include a longer spoiler and and new deflectors at the rear. The cabriolet is 25kg heavier than the hatchback.
The cabin has colour-coded decals prominent on the dashboard, air vents and gearshifter which a painted to match the bodywork and soft-top. Six colour-themes are are available - grey, black, white, carbotech, blue and grey.
3D REAR LIGHTS
The rear has three-dimensional LED's inspired by the designs on Citroën’s Revolte and Survolt concept cars.
The central part of the light is comprised of a rectangular set of 31 diodes and mirrors. The 3D unit illuminates at night when the headllights are turned on and in daylight during braking.

The roof can be raised or dropped in 16sec and activated at up to 120km/h. When the roof is open, an aerodynamic deflector net springs up to provide optimum acoustic comfort by deflecting air and preventing air buffeting.
The new model seats five and Citroen rates its boot space at 245 litres. The DS3 cabrio offers the same cabin space as the hatchback and even retains the 60/40 split-folding rear seat.
According to Citroen SA public relations manager Sharon Garson, the new model will arrive on our shores: "The DS3 Cabrio is coming to South Africa in 2013, probably in the first quarter. We unfortunately don't yet have information on which models."
The Citroen DS3 cabriolet, produced a in France, will be launched globally early in 2013.
