Sexy Bentley Mulsanne goes topless

Bentley’s designers are providing a glimpse into the future of the automaker’s flagship family with sketches of its new Mulsanne Convertible Concept.

The new model builds on the current Mulsanne, debuted at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2009, with a fusion of contemporary elegance and hand-crafted luxury.

DROP-TOP BENTLEY

Open-top cars have been an intrinsic part of the automaker's heritage since its formation in 1919. Since the race-bred 3.0 models of 1920s to the Park Ward S1 Drophead Coupe of the 1950, through to the Corniche and the Azure, Bentley has created an array of glamorous and desirable convertibles.

With its combination of chic, contemporary design and refinement, the Mulsanne Convertible Concept reinforces Bentley’s position as the benchmark in handcrafted automotive luxury.

Bentley’s chairman Wolfgang Dürheimer said: “The modern, luxurious, high-tech Mulsanne saloon provides a perfect foundation on which to create the world’s most elegant convertible.

"The Convertible Concept will extend the appeal of the Mulsanne family, while enhancing the profile of the Bentley brand, particularly in new and emerging markets,” he said.

The new model derives much of its inspiration from the Mulsanne sedan as well as other luxury modes of transportation. The cabin design, for example, is inspired by luxury power boats.
