There are two engine derivatives in the 407 coupe range, the first being a 3-litre V6 petrol engine developing 155 kW of maximum power and 290 Nm of torque.

The other option is a new 2.7 litre V6 HDi turbodiesel powerplant, which kicks out 150 kW at 4 000 r/min and has a torque figure of 440 Nm at 1 900 r/min.

Both models transmit their power to the front wheels via a six-speed gearbox, a manual in the case of the petrol engine and an automatic in the HDi.

The 407 comes with a comprehensive safety package too and in terms of active safety it gets ESP with ABS as well as emergency brake assist. There are also traction control (ASR) and stability control (DSC).

Naturally the car also has a host of airbags for passenger safety.

Thanks to its sculpted architecture, this new body radiates balance, elegance and dynamism.

Its steeply inclined front windscreen creates a low roof line which then flows back into the boot, with its integral dynamic spoiler.

Inside, the coupe features a luxurious interior and comes with four separate seats, aluminum trim detail and leather upholstery.

The fascia panel is different from the sedan model on which it is base, particularly on integral leather versions where the fascia panel and seats are enhanced by saddle-stitched leather upholstery.

Complementing the bucket style seats, brushed aluminium inserts decorate the fascia and door panels. The car's dials is also finished with chrome surrounds.

The car comes with a 3-year/100 000 km factory warranty, a Peugeot 5-year/100 000 km maintenance plan, and long service intervals (30 000 km for the petrol model and 20 000 km for the HDI version).
