Renault updates Clio range for SA

Renault is updating its Clio III range with five Extreme Limited Edition entry-level models.

Although the Clio range has remained largely unchanged since its launch in 2006, with the exception of the 1.5 dCi Expression, all existing Expression models will be replaced with Extremes.

Cars equipped with the Dynamique trim level remain unchanged.

As with most French machines, the new entry-level models are stocked with a range of standard equipment. The list includes a leather steering wheel and gear knob, audio system with MP3 player, front fog lamps, electric/heated mirrors and darker tinted windows.

The biggest visual change is inside the cabin where the dashboard, centre console and trim are all finished in blue to contrast with the dark charcoak of the lower cowling. Instrument surrounds and interior door handles are finished in chrome.

The colour combination is meant to complement the blue and black seat trim of the Extreme models.

Three door models are fitted with 15-inch alloys and cornering headlamps, while a three-door 1.6-litre unit has also been added to the line-up.

Prices for the Extreme models are slightly higher than the comparable Expressions, though. The limited edition models will be available at Renault dealerships from mid-August.
