Renault slashes Megane's price

The Megane range now kicks of with the Megane Shake It! three-door model, which is priced at R155 000. This model is joined by a 5-dr version with the same 1.6-litre 83 kW/152 Nm multivalve powerplant. The latter's price tag is R163 000.

The Shake It! range will be topped by a 1.5 litre dCi version and it is priced at R173 000.

Shake It! has a unique specification, but is similar to the Authentique level. This means electric front windows, air conditioning, tuner/CD front loader and power steering are fitted.

Upholstery and interior trim are unique to the Shake It! brand, and comfort and convenience have been enhanced with adjustable front headrests, centre armrest, and 60/40 split rear seat.

Six airbags, anti-lock brakes with EBD and BAS, and seatbelt tensioners on the four outer belts are standard.

The exterior has colour-coded mirrors and doorhandles, front foglights, and 16-inch alloy wheels combined with a choice of lustrous Pearl Black, Hessian, Eclipse Grey, Flame Red, Mercury Silver or Ottoman Blue paintwork.
