Renault’s little Twingo is already 20-years old; In February 2014, designers have been inspired by its legacy along with the Renault 5 to bring a funky revised model.
The automaker has unveiled the new Twingo with a choice of four striking colours and a “truly assertive personality”.

First launched in 1992, Renault’s engineers and designers set out to create the next-generation Twingo in 2008, says the automaker.
Renault said: “The goal was to create a more spacious and agile city car, despite its smaller footprint, and this is how the idea of switching to a rear-mounted engine took form, in spite of the higher development costs this entailed.”
However, Renault and Daimler were having similar thoughts and thus a joint venture was formed in 2010. Daimler, says Renault, was exploring ideas for the next-generation two- and four-seat versions of the Smart.
The automaker says the combined use of a smaller block and the positioning of the wheels at the car’s extreme corners makes the rear-mounted engine free up extra interior space.
The Twingo will be available in blue, white, yellow and red.
Other design traits inspired by the Renault 5, includes the rake of the rear screen and prominent shoulders.
At the front, there’s Renault’s trademark styling, including a logo set to a black background, big head lights, LED daytime running lights and a glass hatch.
