Renault cheers F1 with Clio hottie

Renault celebrates its latest Formula 1 Constructors’ world championship crown with the limited edition Clio RS Red Bull Racing RB7. Looking for the connection? The Red Bulls were powered by Renault engines…

The Red Bull, Lotus, Caterham and Williams F1 teams will all benefit from Renault power in the 2012 season starting this weekend.

So, taking its inspiration from the world of F1, this bold special edition is dedicated to performance. It rides on Renault’s racing-inspired Cup chassis and its black 18” Interlagos wheels are equipped with Bridgestones first seen on the Megane RS Trophy, which established a new lap record around the Nurburgring’s Nordschleife in June, 2011.

SHOW WITH MASSIVE GO

This Clio from Renault's RenaultSport headquarters in Dieppe, France, however, further makes its presence known with its black exterior paintwork contrasted with bright yellow accents for the wing mirror housings and diffuser. Red Bull Racing badging is displayed on the doors.

A crazy 151kW two-litre provides the requisite shove while inside the cabin, yellow fabric Recaro seats ensure occupants remain put.

The interior equipment offered matches the hot hatch’s high performance credentials with a Renault Sport-badged gear lever and an RS Monitor (or on-board electronic driving coach that displays performance data in real time), climate control, auto headlights and keyless entry and start.

The Clio RS Red Bull Racing RB7 will only be marketed in five countries although Renault SA has said it is exploring introducing this livewire in South Africa by the end of 2012.
