Q7 facelift - prices, specs

Audi’s super-sized Q7 SUV has been deftly facelifted - and yes, that characteristic front grille is now even more imposing.

Technically, little has been altered with the engines and transmissions being carried over. The new Q7 does have subtle (almost unnoticeable) styling changes and standard equipment upgrades.

Most noticeable of these styling changes are the vertical chrome bars which now embellish the oversized grille, adding even more overtaking presence to the Q7's formidable front styling.

The lower front fascia is now finished in contrasting black/grey, whilst indicators are now LED illumination units, whilst the aft bumper features a two-tone finish, with the license plate bracket now sporting a new, distinctly 3D shape – according to Audi.

Interior architecture and detailing benefit from a redesigned instrument cluster, with metallic details around the dials, whilst chrome accents have found their way around the cabin too.

Standardised cabin features across the range include Audi’s latest generation MMI terminal, communicating via a high definition 7-inch colour screen, cruise control and automatic air-conditioning.

If you would like a superlative Bang & Olufsen sound system matched to iPod/USB MMI integration, DVD-based SatNav, perhaps a third row of seats serviced by rear air-conditioning, adaptive cruise control or a rear-view camera, well they’re all optional…

Entry level 3.6 FSI (206kW/360Nm) and 3.0 TDI (176kW/550Nm) Q7s now roll on standard 18-inch alloy wheels and are shored up with all-round park distance control (previously only at the rear) and Bluetooth mobile phone preparation.

The 4.2 V8 FSI (257kW/440Nm) has 19-inch alloys and Xenon headlights augmented by LED daytime running lights, with the 4.2 TDI (250kW/760Nm) running 20-inch wheels as standard fitment.

Ceramic brakes, measuring an impressive 420mm on the front axle and 370mm at the rear, are available as an option on the V8 Q7s.

Lighter than steel brakes, the ceramics are virtually fade-free too - once suitably warmed up…
