LONDON, England - Peugeot has unveiled its 308 GTI seriously hot hatch - ahead of its official launch - at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed (June 25 to 28) in West Sussex England.
The car, a product of Peugeot Sport, will be launched in two derivatives ('250' and '270' - their horsepower), each powered by a four-cylinder 1.6 turbo petrol.
In terms of styling, Peugeot turned to its Sport and Rally division to help create an assertive design.
1.6 TURBOPETROL
The 1.6 unit powering both is turned to two outputs; 185kW for the entry-level and 200kW for the range-topper, each capable of 330Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual with the '270' benefiting from a limited-slip differential.

How fast is it? The 308 GTI 270 sprints to 100km/h in six seconds, the 250 in 6.2, but each will reach a (electronically limited) 250km/h.
Fitted with stop/start, fuel consumption is rated as six litres/100km with emissions of 139g/km.
The base unit has 18" alloy rims, the top-of-the-range 270 19", both shod with Michelin Super Sport tyres (225/40 R18). The brakes have red calipers clamping with 330mm discs (front) and 268mm at the rear.
SPORTY DESIGN
Peugeot has lowered the 308 GTi by 11mm and the track has been widened (front 1570mm and rear 1.554 mm).
Compared to the standard hatch, the GTI gains new LED headlights, chromed bumper strip, gloss black grille, rear diffuser, large sills and twin exhausts. The 270 gains two-tone red/black bodywork and black window trim.
The interior benefits from a leather sport steering-wheel, aluminium pedals, GTI badging, red stitching and red details on the facia, doors, gear shift and mats. The 270 adds leather bucket seats with red stitching.
It's available in five colours - red, blue, black, grey, white.
