DETROIT, MICHIGAN - Nissan continues to focus on the crossover market with the unveiling of its Resonance crossover concept car.
The stunning Resonance follows the automaker's longstanding interest in crossover designs, demonstrated by its Murano, Qashqai and Juke.

Francois Bancon, Nissan general manager of product strategy and planning said: "When the designers were first working on the Nissan Resonance, they were inspired by scientific advancements in technology and material innovations.
"They also were inspired by the aspirations of those people who embrace innovation. It was about serving those people a concept vehicle that is forward-looking and fuses style with an athletic ride."

ENGINE
The
Resonance’s all-wheel drive hybrid drivetrain includes
Nissan's proprietary "one-motor, two-clutch" system that combines a
smaller displacement petrol engine with an electric
motor/lithium-ion battery. The engine is mated to the automaker's next-generation Xtronic CVT (Continuously
Variable Transmission).
The front shows the automaker's "V-Motion" design, starting from grille, moving through the bonnet and carrying through to the headlights.
The floating roof is created through the use of the thin, raked A-pillars, a large full-length glass panel and large windows. Other eye catching design elements include a tinted grille with chromed accents and 22" alloy rims.
Bancon concluded said:
"This
design is not meant to appeal to traditional two-box SUV shoppers, but
rather to those whose fashion and design choices make a statement. For
Nissan, this concept makes our statement about the future of this
segment."
INTERIOR
The interior is built with plant-based materials and Nissan hoped to create a "VIP lounge" look and feel. A large centre console ensures the driver has easy access to controls and infotainment.
Bancon said: "The Resonance interior reflects the enlightened modernity of today's crossover buyer, who values an amazing experience over traditional indulgence”.
“The architecture of the cabin is open and structured. Like the exterior, it redefines and pushes the segment beyond convention."
