Nissan adds hotshot Juke-R to the pack

  • Juke-R 2.0 to debut at Goodwood
  • GT-R engine will make 447kW
  • Showing off on hill-climb

LONDON, England - The birth of the Nissan Juke-R set a benchmark in 2011 as "the world’s first crossover supercar" by marrying Nissan’s Juke with the drive train and suspension from the Nissan GT-R!

When the Juke-R was first rendered in 2011 it surprised motoring enthusiasts: four years on and the Juke-R has been given even more power and bolder styling as the Juke-R 2.0.

DEBUT AT SPEED FESTIVAL

The Juke-R 2.0 had its global debut at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK on Thursday (June 25); it will be on display in the Supercar Paddock for the rest of the show weekend.

Even more exciting for festival-goers is the chance to see the car's debut on Goodwood’s hill-climb on each of the show's three days, driven by Nissan GT Academy graduate and Le Mans 24 Hours driver Jann Mardenborough.

The Juke-R 2.0, based on the updated Nissan Juke launched in 2015, has several significant design and technical enhancements and been injected with further GT-R DNA to reach 450kW. It retans the ‘R’ matt black paint finish and somehow manages to look even more muscular, bolder and powerful than its predecessor.

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS?

Gareth Dunsmore, Nissan Europe's marketing communications general manager, explained: "The Juke-R has become an iconic crossover supercar. With the launch of the previous model in 2014 it was the natural choice to upgrade the original Juke-R with more power and even bolder styling.

"It is a perfect crossover of the best bits of Nissan – real innovation fused with the excitement of the GT-R supercar engine."

We just wish it would reach showrooms....
