Frankfurt, Germany – Volkswagen showed four versions of its latest generation Tiguan at the 2015 Frankfurt auto show.
The second-generation Tiguan rides on the VW group's MQB (modular transverse matrix) platform. It weighs over 50kg less than the previous model.

Eight engines are available:
At the moment, there are eight TSI (turbo petrol) and TDI (turbo diesel) engines with outputs ranging from 85kW to 176kW. Volkswagen claims fuel consumption has been cut by up to 24%.
The new four-wheel drive (4Motion in VW speak) Active Control also lets drivers adjust the all-wheel drive system, caravan owners will be happy the Tiguan can use trailer loads of up to 2500kg.
A raft of new assistance systems feature on the 2016-bound model: including front assist with city emergency braking and pedestrian monitoring, lane assist and the automatic post-collision braking system, all standard.
