Subaru's fifth-generation Outback will arrive in South Africa in March 2015. The new crossover sports a number of upgrades, among them new styling, more space, better cabin and more crash protection.

The automaker adds that the new Outback will remain in the same price bracket as the outgoing version with prices starting at R479 000, "despite a generous standard specification".

Powering the new Outback will be a new 3.6-litre six-cylinder petrol, existing two-litre turbodiesel and 2.5-litre non-turbo petrol. Each drives a Lineartronic constantly variable transmission and all-wheel drive.
