Isuzu is gearing up to launch a new bakkie in the UK later in 2012. The new D-Max (called the KB in South Africa) will come twith a shift in performance, quality and refinement.
Building on the legacy of the KB, the new model has undergone the most comprehensive development programme in the Japanese automaker's history with assertive styling and, Isuzu claims, exceptional load capacity, towing abilities and off-road performance.
Isuzu’s new bakkie will feature new common-rail diesel engines.
EXHAUSTIVE DEVELOPMENT
William Brown, general manager of Isuzu UK, said: “The all-new Isuzu D-Max (as it is called there) is an incredibly appealing package that will deliver in every key area that matters to those in farming, construction and other outdoor industries. It's the result of an exhaustive development process that included extensive research among customers worldwide."
The vehicles will be available in the UK from June and, Isuzu says, "will reinforce the brand’s strong reputation as the bakkie for professionals".
The cabin has been given a major upgrade and Isuzu says it has packed the truck with a high level of equipment.
The new model will arrive in SA early in 2013, though we'll have prices and specs in a few months. Production of the new KB will begin early in 2013 at GM's plant in Port Elizabeth and include, for the first time, in left-hand drive models for export across sub-Saharan Africa.
