New Fiesta ST lands in SA

Ford South Africa has just launched its fastest production Fiesta yet - the baby ST is now here.

The new Fiesta ST is Ford’s fastest and most dynamic small production performance car, employing a precision-tuned and driver-focused power train and chassis to deliver an awesome driving experience.

DYNAMITE POWER

Developed by Ford Team RS, Ford’s global performance vehicle group, the new Fiesta ST is equipped with a 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine to achieve 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds and offer 134kW/240Nm. Top speed is 220km/h. Despite its performance credentials the Fiesta ST remains fuel-efficient with a claimed 5.9 litres/100km and 138g/km CO2* on a combined cycle run.

Ford Team RS tuned the powertrain, suspension, steering and brakes for optimised driving dynamics, and introduced features only previously found in larger performance cars – including enhanced Torque Vectoring Control and three-mode stability control, six-speed manual transmission and all-disc brakes.

The baby ST features a large trapezoidal honeycomb grille and dramatic rear diffuser element. The interior sports Recaro seats, a new sound symposer that channels the engine note to the cabin to ensure the distinctive engine roar is integral to the driving experience. The Fiesta ST also includes SYNC and MyKey technology available in other Ford models.

PERFORMANCE PASSION

Ford's  Gavin Golightly said: “The new Fiesta ST delivers remarkable levels of performance, design and quality to offer an unsurpassed driving experience. South Africans have an affinity for performance and the Fiesta ST speaks directly to that passion.”

The new ST is priced at R254 900 and is available with a fully comprehensive four-year or 120 000km warranty and four-year or 60 000km service plan. Service intervals 20 000km.
