• Audi's revolutionary concept car
• New design direction
• To be revealed at LA auto show
Audi is preparing to enter a new era of design 2014 at the Los Angeles auto show from November 19, as the automaker presents its first show car to bear the signature of its new head of design Marc Lichte.
The show car could be Audi's A9 concept, slotting in above the A8 and A7 sedans.
Lichte, appointed in 2014, says vehicle design is "becoming an even stronger expression of progressive technology. The concept car at the Los Angeles auto show marks a new beginning in Audi Design – both exterior and interior".
NEW HEAD OF DESIGN
Lichte began his career at Volkswagen AG in 1996 while still a student at Pforzheim University studying transportation design. After joining the company, he worked as an exterior designer before being appointed head of the exterior design studio in 2006.
At Volkswagen, Lichte worked on production models such as the Golf (5, 6 and 7), the Passat ( generations six, seven and eight), Touareg and the Phaeton.
