Toyota has a few more hybrid stars lined up for the 2011 Geneva auto show in March, along with a number of concepts it sees featuring in its future. The next phase of its hybrid strategy will be shown at Geneva with the world debut of the Yaris HSD concept and a Prius+ MPV. The Yaris HSD concept brings full hybrid power to the B-segment, Europe’s largest. However Toyota has promised the smaller car will have hybrid-specific styling and a number of new design elements.BEYOND HYBRIDSThe new Prius+, a seven-seater MPV with a full hybrid powertrain, is said to be more spacious than the Prius V shown at the recent Detroit auto show. The Prius+ has more passenger and load loadspace but still, its maker says, has below average fuel consumption and emissions. However, showing it is looking beyond the hybrid technology it has pioneered for more than 20 years, Toyota will also be displaying an array of plug-in hybrid electric and fuel-cell hybrid vehicles. The Geneva auto show will open to the media on March 1, 2011.
