Shinari previews Mazda designs
Mazda has unveiled a new four-door sports coupe concept, called Shinari, to be shown at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.
The fluid design is said to hint at the future styling of Mazda production vehicles, although Automotive News reported that Mazda executives present at the reveal wouldn’t say when the Kodo (Japanese for “soul”) design language would first appear on volume models.
However, Ikuo Maeda, general manager of Mazda’s design division said in Milan, Italy that “this design will lead to the next generation of Mazda design and will lead to other elements.”
For now, we’ll have to be content with the Shinari’s basic details. Pictures reveal a character line that runs through the headlights and under the grille. They also show a cabin that seats four and a clear barrier separating the occupants.
Shinari is reported to be the work of a collaboration between Mazda’s US, German and Japanese design studios.
The striking four-door concept will be shown at the Paris Motor Show starting end September.
